Current lid solutions for espresso capsules are mainly based on aluminum and previously the few paper solutions in the market were not effective.

The extraction pressure, water temperature, flow rate required for the preparation of an espresso always challenged the paper filters, pushing them beyond their limits.

Ahlstrom-Munksjö GreenCapsule Top lid is the only compostable lid for espresso capsules that is capable of ensuring the correct extraction pressure and filtration properties required when preparing an espresso.

Our composite filter based on paper & PLA is capable to face these conditions in an effective way. The result in cup is a creamy, smooth coffee with a pure coffee flavor.

This solution has been adopted by several coffee roasters in France, Germany, Switzerland and Italy.


Ahlstrom-Munksjö GreenCapsule filter for espresso is composed of PLA, which is natural and produced from renewable sources.

Our product is compostable according to the EN13432 compostability standard and certified OK compost from an independent laboratory.


Our dedicated coffee pods filter ranges, characterized by neutral odor and taste; allow a correct brewing process in order to extract all and only the flavors from the roasted coffee while leaving no coffee dust in the cup.
